At Panapesca, the sea isn't just the origin of our work: it's our horizon.
Every day, from selecting raw materials to the finished product, we strive to ensure quality, safety, and transparency. But our commitment can't stop there. For this reason, starting in March 2025, we have chosen to launch a partnership with Ogyre, the first global platform for Fishing for Litter, to actively protect the marine ecosystem.
An alliance born from a shared responsibility
The project Fishing for Litter was created to support local fishing communities in recovering marine debris from routine fishing activities. Plastic, nets, and pollutants are brought back to shore and disposed of responsibly thanks to collaboration between Ogyre, local authorities, and local partners.
We wanted this commitment to be more than just a symbolic gesture, but an integral part of our understanding of sustainability. Not an abstract concept, but a concrete value that involves people, territories, and processes.
621 kg of waste removed: a small but significant achievement.
In the first months of activity, the fleet of 14 fishermen that Panapesca supports has already collected 621 kg of marine waste, the equivalent of about 62.100 half-liter plastic bottlesA measurable, tangible gesture that says better than a thousand words what "taking care of the sea" means to us.
Circular economy, people, future
Supporting Ogyre also means give value to the work of fishermen, who become custodians of the sea as well as fishing professionals.
It means talking about The circular economy not as a slogan, but as a real practice: transforming a problem (marine pollution) into a resource (value for the environment and for the community).
The decision to join this mission stems from the desire to leave a positive mark, consistent with our business vision: ethical, responsible, future-oriented.
The sea gives us so much. It's time to give back.
For us at Panapesca, this partnership represents much more than a CSR initiative. It's a promise: to continue working every day with passion, but also with awareness.
The sea has been with us for over fifty years. It's time to protect it as it deserves.
